OAE (Otoacoustic Emission) Test – Newborn & Child Hearing Screening

The OAE Test is a quick and comfortable screening designed to check the functioning of the cochlea (inner ear). At Sai Speech & Hearing Clinic, it’s most commonly used for newborns, infants, and small children to identify early signs of hearing loss — even before speech development begins.

It helps ensure timely intervention and better speech development outcomes.

How It Works

A soft probe is inserted into the ear canal that emits gentle sounds. The probe measures tiny sound waves produced by the cochlea in response. Lack of these responses may indicate hearing difficulty.
